Meet the attorney
Helen Vargas-Crebas, Esq.
Helen Vargas‑Crebas is an attorney and the founder of New Path Immigration LLC, an immigration law firm based in Tucker, Georgia. Originally from Brazil, Helen immigrated to the United States more than two decades ago and brings both professional expertise and personal experience to her practice.
Helen is licensed to practice law in the United States and in Brazil. She earned her law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Brazil and later obtained her Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Georgia State University. Her legal career in the United States has been dedicated almost entirely to immigration law and to serving immigrant communities in Georgia and beyond. She began her immigration practice at Catholic Charities Atlanta, where she served as a legal orientation provider and as a staff attorney representing individuals detained at the Stewart and Irwin Detention Centers.
Helen later worked as a staff attorney at the Latin American Association, where she represented survivors of crime seeking humanitarian immigration relief. She also served as legal counsel to the Brazilian Consulate in Atlanta, advising Brazilian nationals and the consulate on a wide range of immigration and related legal matters. Before founding New Path Immigration LLC, Helen was a Managing Attorney at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), where she represented unaccompanied children in removal proceedings and before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Throughout her career, Helen has remained committed to client-centered advocacy. She takes the time to understand each client’s story, communicates clearly and honestly, and develops legal strategies that reflect both the law and the realities of her clients’ lives. As an immigrant herself, Helen understands firsthand the challenges of navigating the U.S. immigration system. This perspective informs her work and fuels her commitment to helping clients protect their futures, keep their families together, and move forward with confidence. Through New Path Immigration LLC, she strives to provide not only skilled legal representation but also compassion, dignity, and trust.

Helen is licensed to practice law in both the United States and Brazil. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Georgia.
